Choose the Right Film

If the party is taking place outside, select a film that allows you to take advantage of the natural light and to capture and freeze action—200 to 400 ISO should do the trick. (If your outdoor shoot is at midday, use your flash to reduce shadows on faces.) If shooting inside with limited natural light, increase your film speed so you won’t have to rely on your flash—400 to 800 ISO. The result will be more natural-looking subjects.
