4. Handwrite “family” on the outer front panel of the accordion-book block, and stamp “photos” with light brown ink below it. Stamp a span of years on the bottom right corner and a year on the bottom of each following page with a date stamp. Trim 11 black-and-white or sepia-tone photos to 3x3-3/4” and adhere one to each page, representing the year stamped on the page.
5. Adhere the back panel of the accordion to the inside back cover. Open the cover and cut a 1/8”-long vertical slit in the center of the spine edge. Cut a 20”-length of brown silk ribbon and, starting from the inside of the cover, thread one ribbon end through the spine slit and pull it behind the back cover until the ends are even. Glue the portion of ribbon that’s behind the cover to the back cover. Tie the ends in a bow.
