a DIY father's Day

Inspired by Christina Cole’s layout “Elise”

At first, I was really drawn to the tabbed top of Christina’s layout, but after moving elements around on my page for a while, I decided it wasn’t a concept I wanted to bring to this page. I focused instead on the diagonal strip of journaling, and used that as the basis for my construction. (See, even the littlest things can inspire!) I cut long strips of two patterned papers, and arranged them on a diagonal, figuring out the spacing of my photos as I worked. I took another cue from Christina when writing my journaling, starting out with a Q&A section.
