Photo Borders

design by Jen Lessinger

Digital brushes are like rubber stamps that can be manipulated to create an infinite array of images and effects. Fill dead space in a photo with brush work that complements the subject matter. Jen Lessinger scattered white and orange stars along the right side of her photo, filling a dark void.

Tip: Challenge conventional wisdom by “stamping” with a light color on a dark background. Jen brought the white and orange used in the other parts of her layout into the dark portion of her nighttime photo.

SOURCES Cardstock: Die Cuts with a View (blue), Bazzill Basics Paper (white, orange). Font: Century Gothic. Stickers: Arctic Frog. Chipboard shapes: Heidi Swapp.
