Blankie With Breakfast

design by Heather Melzer

For this layout, Heather scanned her daughter’s “blankie” and then played with the transparency feature in Microsoft Picture It! so that her journaling would be more visible on top of the image. She printed the blanket image and journaling onto white textured card stock using her 12" x 12" printer, cut it out along the edges, and mounted it on light blue card stock. For a fun embellishment, she scanned a handful of her daughter’s favorite breakfast cereal, printed it on matte scrapbook paper, and cut out individual pieces with a craft knife. She adhered them to the back of the domed frame, mounting some with adhesive foam for added dimension.

SOURCES: Card stock by Prism Papers. Matte scrapbook paper by Epson. Computer fonts are Pure Imagination (“blankie with”) and Tasklist (“breakfast”) by Two Peas in a Bucket, and Day Roman (journaling) downloaded off the Internet. Frame by Pebbles Inc. Bottle cap by Li’l Davis Designs. Ribbon by Offray.
