Spray On Dyes
design by Erikia Ghumm
Spray dyes create complex dyed designs nearly effortlessly. I used this method to make my background paper, photo corners, and stamped title.
Tips
Prevent paper warping. Use a “block” pad of watercolor paper when dyeing backgrounds because paper still stuck to the pad won’t curl when wet.
Stamp with dyes. Rather than using traditional ink, I sprayed blue and teal dyes onto negative block alphabet stamps. Once the stamped title was dry, outlined the letters with a black fine-tip pen.
