Distress and Dye
design by Dana Smith
Use paper dyes to create an aged look. Rough up the paper before dyeing it to break surface fibers, allowing those areas to suck up more dye.
Tips
Perfectly match papers and photos. Dana dyed her background card stock to duplicate the soothing blue-sky color in her photo.
Repeat handmade elements. Dyed elements give layouts a handmade feel. Continue this feeling by mixing in machine stitching and handwritten journaling.
