Pull Together With Pattern

design by Leslie Lightfoot

Another foolproof method is to combine papers with similar shapes on them. Here, Leslie Lightfoot effectively used three papers that all share stripes, but the width of the stripes varies. She ran them vertically up her layout, using them to draw attention into the page. To achieve the same united effect, you also could  combine polka-dot prints, floral patterns, or even plaids.

SOURCES Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper. Patterned paper: Me and My Big Ideas (orange), Scrapworks (tricolor), KI Memories (multihue). Fonts: Book Antiqua (journaling) by Microsoft, Haettenschweiller (subtitle) and Book Antiqua (title) off the Internet. Bottle cap: Li’l Davis Designs.
