Spring and Summer

When the days grow longer in spring and summer, the light changes dramatically. The sun is faster to rise and set in the summer than in the winter, which means the ideal light usually only lasts for about 30 minutes. Summer sun shines from a high angle, which can cause deep, dense shadows. If you’re shooting in a full-sun situation, try to find open shade. Or use your flash or a reflector to direct some light into the shadows to lighten your subject’s face.
