Edit & Crop
design by Shannon Tidwell
Whichever method of arranging photos you choose, the ability to edit and crop is nearly essential. Just because you shot an entire roll of film at your son’s fourth birthday doesn’t mean that all 24 photos need to wind up on a layout. Choose the strongest and those that best tell the story. You may still have a dozen photos you want to use, but your task will be easier. Shannon used her computer to zoom in on these photos of her son swimming without inflatable wings for the first time. By zooming and cropping, the photos are the focus, but Shannon’s eye-catching design with the strips of colorful patterned paper is not sacrificed.
